Annabelle Doll is a porcelain doll and she lives with her family in a house that is over 100 years old. Auntie Sarah used to live with the Doll family; however, she has been missing since 1955. One day, Annabelle discovers Auntie Sarah's journal and she is intrigued by her aunt's disappearance. Young Annabelle convinces her family to search for Auntie Sarah, which means they must leave the safety of the dollhouse and explore the house where people live. As their adventure begins the Dolls discover another family of dolls who are not porcelain but plastic. Despite their differences, The Funcrafts and Dolls become friends and together they try and solve the mystery of the disappearance of Auntie Sarah.
