Have you ever had to offer an apology when you weren’t really, truly sorry? You might like some of these apology poems that aren’t really, truly sorry too. These poems were inspired by a false apology poem by William Carlos Williams called, “This Is Just to Say.” Every poem is also called, “This Is Just to Say” and follows the same pattern. Humpty Dumpty, Jack (of the Beanstalk), Red Riding Hood, and Barbie are a few of many on the receiving ends of these silly, funny verses. Matthew Cordell’s line drawings will leave you in stitches. If these poems don’t make you laugh, you might have to offer a false apology yourself!
